My academic training in the arts has allowed me to pursue many of my artistic goals. I have been painting since I was eight years old and I have always been attracted to painting unique architecture and landscapes. The Midwest Museum of American Art has one of my works of art in their permanent collection. New Orleans has some wonderful architecture and scenic spots to paint and since Hurricane Katrina I have found out how important it is to create painterly visual documents of what New Orleans tries to maintain and restore with some of its landmarks, architecture, and scenic spots. I have families that are no longer live in New Orleans but they still want paintings of their favorite places in New Orleans. I paint and display my paintings at Arts Market of New Orleans and one can often find me painting with onlookers and sometimes people asking me questions about my paintings. I am happy to be a part of this group of artists and have many a time been inspired by their works of art. I do offer my paintings for sale for people visiting my website and I do some commission works as well. Take the time to view my recent paintings of New Orleans architecture and Louisiana historic landmarks. Please feel free to email me questions at: thoburge@msn.com
A home without art is like a room without windows.
Currently exhibiting my paintings with Agora Galleries at 2240 Magazine street.
